Hi! If you are certain that your flaps were properly closed when you used it in the water, Sony will provide you with a new one without any extra fee. They just have to run it true a pressure test first. Cinserely

My Z2 is working quite well now, haven't really used the full xperience yet but it works as a phone, even though the 4k recording mode isnt the greatest. It's lagging.

I haven't tried out my new one to the fullest but so for it have worked. But I'm a little scared of trying in under water. Another funny thing tough is that z3 been released already wich made me a little bit disappointed since z2 was brand new around 5 months ago.

I feel you, for a phone that suppose to be watertight its a little bit disappointing. I too won't use my phone in the water again. But I did know that a new released phone rarely work as it should.

I agree to the fact that I was unlucky. Because I knew that these issues would come with a brand new phone. I like Sony as a brand by i also remember when the first Xperia phone released, and that wasn't a pretty sight. Anyway I like my Z2 so far.

I'm just saying this..the fact that I actually buy a waterproof phone is ofcourse to be able to use it in the water.. I'm not saying that I'm going to scuba dive with it..but just to know that I can use it in the water without breaking it is a fun fact and yes there are a lots of better products that I can use to take that kind of photos. But I chose this phone because of its benefits and if Sony can't keep up with the things they promise in thire products that not really my problem. Anyway for all you guys out there I'm not gonna argue bout wheither what's wrong and right to do with the Z2.. But if I buy a phone that are suppose to be watertight I making sure that it is, that why I bought it..otherwise I could just stick with the iPhone. By the way I did get a new one without spending a cent. Because guess what, there was something wrong with my first unit.

I wasn't unsure, that was the problem. So when I used it in the water it broke. But now I got me a new one and I hope this one will work proporly. But the 4k recording didn't work as it supposed to either.. Even though I knew these kind of issues would come with a brand new developed phone I'm a little bit disappointed.

Hi everyone! For a few weeks ago my phone broke due to a water damage. Even though the Xperia Z2 suppose to be waterproof. Anyway my warranty covered it. They made a unit change cuz there was know way to fix that phone, but that I knew. But to the real question though now it says on the rep status that it's "waiting to deliver" and I wonder what exactly is it to wait for if the just gonna send me a knew phone?! It should take more than a day?

For everyone's information I got lucky, but I also felt it. There was something wrong with my phone from the start and after the got water inside of it, it just busted. But I'm about to get a new one, probably this week, cuz the warranty kept its promise. Looking forward to get it back!

Hi folks! My name is Metin, I work as a preschool teacher. Bout to turn 26 y/o. Live in where summer only lasts a month. (Sweden) Lol. Since I got my first Sony Ericsson I've like their products. (Which was the first one with a color display) don't remember the name T90i maybe.. But around that time smartphones started to be more popular I got a sony Sation, unfortunately by that time this wasn't a good nor fast phone. Cyborg wasn't the phone to have if you wanted a legit phone. As the time passes by sony releases the first Xperia. Which didn't really blow me away with its specifics. So I lay low with sony for a few years. But just for a changes from the iPhone I got myself a sony Z2. So now I'm back, not really a technician but happy to help in anyway. Btw my z2 that suppose to be waterproof broke under water, so be careful. Apologies for any bad writing and tacky English. Haha. Over and out!

There's nothing in particular that looks like a weak point that I can see by eye. But there's def something cuz before this wasn't a problem. I just know something's wrong, it started vibrate like mad until the battery ran out. And just like you mention.. the bad experience I've got from this makes more unsure about my phone whether it's waterproof or will break again.

Hi! Oh thats unfortunet! But they do a pressure test on the phone to see if it's something wrong with it. Which is totally understandable. But I know for sure that all the flaps were closed so if I won't get a new phone I'll def never gonna buy a sony again. It's a 50/50 chanse.

Hi Sam! Yes I'm about to that today. At this point I don't suspect the water damage anymore, cuz yesterday at some point the phone started to vibrate consistently and didn't stop until the battery ran out.. And I could actually see the water inside the display.

Anyone got water inside their z2.. That supposed to be waterproof? Yes every lid was properly sealed.
