rooting neo v with 4.0.2.A.0.62(gingerbread) firmware...

hi super users..i installed ICS officially thru pc companion last week but not satisfied with its performance mainly wifi problems..so i downgraded it by service centre to 4.0.2.A.0.62(gingerbread) firmware and i am in love with it again...now i want to root my phone if i use doomlords method then i have to revert back to 4.0.2.A.0.42 first but main problem is if i update my phone officially then again ICS will be installed....help

everthing done except the comands given ,,when i type them in cmd..it says fastboot is not a recognised command-not an internal or external command..help me on the last part...

Hope you are well aware that rooting may void warranty

You could only enter fastboot if your bootloader is unlocked..... is it ??

If not then its nearly impossible to root 0.62..... what you could try is to flash old kernel using flashtool... and then try to root with Zerg Rush

thanks nabeel..actually i tried 2nd method coz doomlords method make me to downgrade first without unlocking bootloader but main problem is i cant update from .42 to .62 instead i will go again to ICS..

but 2nd method involves bootloader unlocking which i dont wanna do..so plz tell me any method which do rooting without bootloader unlocking and will be done directly on .62 gingerbread..thanksss

The only left method is to ( may or may not be successful)...... download 4.0.2.a.0.42.... and using flashtool, just flash the kernel and not the whole firmware..... ( just kernel )

After doing that root your mobile

how did you update to .62, OTA or PCC/SEUS?

After downgrading to GB .42 and rooting it, the only version available for OTA is GB .62... thus I have a rooted GB .62.

Nice to be back to GB.

when i tap settings/about phone/software update--

it says you have the latest software ....help me...

and what are differences btwn .42 and .62 build...??

For OTA update do this:

* Go to Phone's Settings
* Go to about phone
* Go to software update

Update will take a while and will be depending on your WiFi connection speed.

.62 is supposed to be the last stable GB. Once you are done, PCC and SEUS will try to convince you to ICS. Resist with all your might. hahaha

We will wait untill ICS is worth to be our desert.
