I had the same problem when upgraded to ICS 4.0.3. it was working very well with ggb before. I got the 4.0.4 update for my Arc S and could easily set up the email without no security certificate error.

But my problem (or app problem) is that each folder needs to be refereshed seperately to show emails. I only receive emails which directly go to my inbox, but i have many folders for different senders with different rules.

I have checked the rules in my outlook, but couldnt find something helpful, because when i press referesh in each folder in my email app, i will receive emails for that folder!

I wish someone has an idea to resolve it or it needs SE attention, because that looks annoying for more than 25 folders to be updated manually!

In the meanwhile our company upgraded to Exchange 2010. I had hoped for the problem with 'waiting for synchronisation' to disappear, but unfortunately it didn't. New facts:

- same settings do work on Android 2.3.x.

- same settings do not work on Android 4.0.3 & Android 4.0.4

- synchronisation after receiving 'waiting for synchronisation' message completes when connected through WIFI instead of mobile internet (2G/3G). No problems seem to exist when connected through WIFI, strangely enough.

Any news on the subject?

Just updated and it synced my echange mail acount ... seems to work for now ... lets hope it stays this way... for me problem solved. Thanks SONY

hi,

had same problem so was very happy to see that new software is released, however still when trying to update software i have info that i am using latest version. when i did "repair sfotware" still version 4.1.B.0.431 was installed

any idea how to download 4.1.b.0.587?

on Xperia Ray it did not suggest the update to 4.1.B.0.587 directly - it for some reason was only suggested and installed through PC Companion (version 2.10.094 - Production 25)

Hi All

GOOD GOOD NEWS ALL ISSUE RELATED TO EMAIL " WAITING FOR SYNC" IS RESLOVED.

I have updated 4.1.B.0.431 TO  4.1.B.0.587 Android operating system to my mobile (Sony Arc S)

The following issue are fixed

1. Email account (Corporate account fixed)

2. Dialer is more responsive and fast

How to Upgrade : Connect your mobile to your computer using original Data Cable (MTS). In case the computer does not detect cable wire try to go to Settings--> Developer option-->check the USB debugging.

It will prompt to install PC companion Software say " Yes" to it. It will try to download MTS driver for you data cable. In case it fails you should run "Window Media Player" on your operating System.

Once you are connected it will ask to update the OS and all your issue is fixed.

Sony Engineer : I posted my Email log generated by Touch Down. I think it helped you to fix long standing issue. Please let me know.
