@Phill2

I would reinstall the latest update with PCC and check again what has been draining your battery  (settings > power management > battery > check the graph too)

PC Companion (PCC)

Bridge (for Mac)

Alternatives on How to backup Xperias

Re: Z5 battery life

I cleared Stamina modes cache yesterday; predicted battery life went from 1 day 8hours to 4 days xx hours.

Stamina mode now at 97% charged shows 1 day and 1 hour!?!?!?!?!? without it, 7 hours! I wonder what keeps Stamina mode from working properly?

Reinstalled latest firmware via PCC (PC companian app) current setting up phone again with google acc, apps, etc.

Re: Z5 battery life

I'm now on my third Z5 during the last 7 days. I kept returning them untill I hit the jackpot. Seems like #3 is not a lemon.

Currently enjoying better battery life, powerbutton is not loose, camera button is nice and tactile, and the camera isn't blurry.

#1: Camera button wasn't working

#2: Power button loose and wedged underneath the cover, draining battery

#3: Seems to be alright, still far from 2 day battery life...

I dont know if i hit a bad batch or what, but it seems like Sony might have rushed the production of these units a tad too much?

Re: Z5 battery life

Hey,

I've got the same problem. I've contacted Sony an they said, i should restart the device into the safe mode (dont know how its name in englisch Slightly smiling Face i mean if you long press shut down)

But also with this, same problem.

If you look in the Battery stats, the active line is all the time green. Also CPU Spy shows, the processor don't go in to the deep sleep, it stays at 384MHz all the time.

Android OS needs the most battery and its a long time active. Yesterday it stays 4h50 min active, after I stop loading 5hours before?!?!

Are your battery stats look like the same?

Re: Z5 Compact: Poor battery life !

I have z5c only 4 days, on the beginning the battery was horrible, phone was getting hot, and the screen was laggy.... in second day everything started working much better, now I don't see any difference between z5c and my previous z3c.

As for the battery life I also noticed that my old z3c after lollipop update started to discharg really fast especially when LTE was ON (and i think that the same is here with z5c; when I switch LTE off, then the phone behave as expected) I think that we have to wait for Marschmallow to be more happy of using our phones, what do you think?

Re: Z5 Compact: Poor battery life !

The battery life on my brand new z5 compact is so terrible. How can sony claim it is a 2 day battery. The phone heats up and the battery lasts around 9 hours watching a few vids and general net browsing. Thats twice as worse than the z3 compact. Is this some sort of a practical joke sony? Last night the phone heated up in my hand. As i cooled a few minutes later it just reset and rebooted ON ITS OWN- THE BATTERY WAS AT 20%!!! This is a terrible case of false advertising on sonys behalf. I dont see any sony representative replying here either so it just goes to show how little they care i suppose. Some of you guys have said you think its firmware related. I hope so and i hope a fix is coming. If not this will be the last xperia product i buy and i have been loyal to this brand for a long time. Sort it out sony.

Re: Z5 Compact: Poor battery life !

I totally understand your frustration, I think the same as you.... But like I said before (I don't believe in this in general) my phone has settled somehow?!?! After two days of using I really don't see it getting hot. Using a lot of FB, Chrome, emails and camera- and seems to be fine up till now.

One thing- maybe this has something to do with batt life- I switched quick charging "OFF" in settings, maybe battery should be recharged slowly to get full capacity. I always charge my phone during the night, and use my old charger which is 850mah!
