Less than 24 hours after receiving the "no fault found" phone it reset in the middle of the night!
As I've received no comment from Sony it looks like I've got to check my position with trading standards and lawyers

Repair centre have asked me to return my phone but want the manufactured date code.
Does anyone know where this is on the Z3 ?

I think you can find this peice of info on your warranty card/certificate.

The pull out card is under the memory card slot.
Phone returned for a 3rd time. Really glad to say I won't have to use this phone ever again.

it has nothing to do with the 3rd party apps. stop blaming them. z3 is often freezing in Safe Mode also. Problem is most probably with Sony Xperia apps.
