Wifi and Bluetooth not turn on after 5.1.1 update

Please Help...

after officially update to 5.1.1 my Z3 Compact 5833 can not turn on Wifi and bleutooth. I tried to factory reset and update using PC Companion still not affected. I also tried to run in safe mode, still these problems occure... I cheked from diagnostic tools that buildin from SONY the status of wifi and bluetooth its tested and no error...

Before update to 5.1.1 (in 5.0.2) there is no problems at all.

I really love these gadget... small and powerfull...

So is there any suggestion or solution for this matters.

Thanks...

Re: Wifi and Bluetooth not turn on after 5.1.1 update

Hi Abahtrh, welcome to the community!

What I advise is running a software repair through PC Companion,

1. open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
2. Phone Software Update.
3. Start.
4. Repair Phone
5. Continue
6. Accept data removal
7. Next
8. Wait for prepare
9. Select Phone
10. Follow the connection steps

I do hope this resolves the issue for you, it is very likely to. Keep us updated.

Re: Wifi and Bluetooth not turn on after 5.1.1 update

Hi mcjarod, welcome to the community!

You can back up your data before running the repair and restore the data back to the phone after the repair. To do so:

1. Go to Support to install PC Companion on a Windows computer.
2. When installed, start PC Companion on the computer.
3. Connect your phone to the computer using a USB cable.
4. Click Start under Backup & Restore.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions.
(Exactly what contents will be backed up may differ depending on phone model.
You can view detailed information about this as you follow the steps in the Backup & Restore wizard).

The software repair removes & re-installs the operating system so it is very likely to smoothen the OS out for you.

I see Abahtrh, in that case I would advise contacting Sony Xperia Customer Care in your region as you may need to have your phone assessed by a technician.

Z3 compact Wifi not turning on

Hi everyone, I've had my unlocked d5803 (running on EE UK) since March this year and it is a great phone, although recently I've been having trouble let with it. Last week I factory reset the phone with PC companion after the 5.1.1 update slowed things down. Since factory reseting the phone, it has been running perfectly.

The phone wifi was working fine last night before I went to sleep however this morning I noticed the wifi was off. It's just stuck on "turning on....". Even if I toggle airplane mode it will still stay on it. I have tried restarting the phone and also starting it in safe mode but that hasn't fixed it. When I run the diagnostics in settings the wifi comes up as a pass. What is wrong? It is very annoying having to use mobile data, especially because my house has very bad mobile signal.

Is there any way to fix this without a factory reset?

Many thanks

Re: Z3 compact Wifi not turning on

@Hello3

You have done everything possible, you need to reset the phone with PCC

Re: Z3 compact Wifi not turning on

Hi Hello3, welcome to the community!

Good advice from @Uliwooly.

Note: a software repair will delete all user data, to back up your phone using PC Companion first:

1. Go to Support to install PC Companion on a Windows
computer.
2. When installed, start PC Companion on the computer.
3. Connect your phone to the computer using a USB cable.
4. Click Start under Backup & Restore.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions.
(Exactly what contents will be backed up may differ
depending on phone model.
You can view detailed information about this as you follow
the steps in the Backup & Restore wizard).

Running the software repair:
1. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
2. Phone Software Update.
3. Start.
4. Repair Phone
5. Continue
6. Accept data removal
7. Next
8. Wait for prepare
9. Select Phone
10. Follow the connection steps

I do hope this helps, it's very likely to resolve the issue. Keep us updated!
