Never did find a solution to this one power down volume reset broken Xperia Z1

My Grand daughter and her friend put a pin password on my Experia z1. And then months later when i was going to take it to Costa Rica i tried to get into it to unlock it and couldn’t get passed the pin code. The sony web app would not do anything without pin code.

So i resorted to hard rest and found that all it will do is turn the phone on and off

i think its probably just corrosion although it could be a circuit glitch.  Anybody ever do a repair like that ?  Let me know if you can guide me into this attempt ??

Hi @Oakoj,

Do I understand correctly that you want to remove the screen lock from your Xperia Z1, but you can't remember the PIN code as you did not personally set it yourself.

If that is the case, you can perform a software repair using Xperia Companion to reset the device and to have the PIN code removed. Do note that this will also delete all data stored on the internal storage of the device.

Let me know if that helps!
