My Sony Xperia ZR screen is broken and i went to Sony Authorised center in Jayanagar 7 Block, Bangalore.
They told that my phone's screen can not be repaired. They are saying that they will contact HO and let me know that a 50 % replacement may be done or not, but there are several days goneby...
My question is that if i buy a phone then i expect to get it repaired. This is a problem from sony that they cannot do a repair.
No point in making such a phone that cannot be repaired. I bought this phone because it can open:- such as change the battery, etc as compared to Xperia Z.
Even on the web several people are selling the screen assembly out of india. This means that part can be repaired as it is available somewhere in the world
I want the solution otherwise i will make sure that as many people come to know about your shortcomings. I am good in broadcasting on internet very well. I just thought to give you a chance before i do something....
I spent my hard earned money on this phone and i cannot just let it go so easily... So mind it and solve this issue ASAP !!

Even my screen broke .I brought my phone on 21st september. When I went to the service center,they are saying that replacement is not possible. Can someone from sony help me on this?

I am have the same problem...I don't understand why sony is selling a product their service centers could not repair.... Its has no warranty on impact damage...your service centers could not repair.....IS IT DISPOSABLE?????...

Hi, even I am facing the same problem, The people at the service center were downright rude and did not even check the phone as soon as I said I have an Xperia ZR and it has a broken screen. They said we'll offer you a 10% discount on your new sony phone if you decide to replace this one!! imagine, getting 10% off on MPR on a phone which you got it for 26K.
Since, my phone is out of warranty, I can't do much. I tried contacting sony India via their phonelines and customer support, and even gave a threat of legal action as the "no repair policy" was not mentioned at the time of selling the product, but sorry was the only thing which they could offer. I hope future sony buyers are not going to be harassed by this silly policy, but I am done with sony, that's for sure.

My phone ZR top half of screen is not responding to touch. it could be due to a small crack i observed at one of edges.When i called Sony customer care, they asked me to visit SS electronics nearby. when i went to shop, they gave me only one option : you can buy a new Z model at 80% cost.
Reason: Sony doesn't support any more ZR and some other models.
Fantastic- why didn't customer care tell me on phone about this though i mentioned it as ZR
The response is - we don't know but we got instructions not to suppor these models.
I have asked them why dont you try to check the problem if it has feasbility to fix it easily like with s/w etc. But they didn't care to look at it citing that it is in working condition and once we open it, if some thing goes wrong, you would blame us.
if these so called sony specialists are afraid to diagnose problem, i don't uunderstand what their purpose. Sony indirectly answers customers through these so called authorised centers to convey that - you screwed yourself buying my phone!
I inquired in couple of local shops next to them on what are possible options ? in a glimpse, they said replace LED and it will work and it costs 4000 Rs.
I make a decision today - Never buy Sony

I had my xperia NEO purchased in UK. Unfortunately with in a month the screen response was gone.
I visited Domlur sony serivce center, bangalore ( now its not there i think), they have replaced with the cost of 6000/- since there is no international warranty.
But saying they cannot repair their own xperia phone is not correct. if customer is ready to pay, what is the problem in repair ?? would they expect other mobile service centers will give support to xperia phone?? or customer should buy and use IIN and do self repair??
another thing is.. which i am not sure.. for any issue first they say they will update the software and see if that works which costs around $20.
But why they do that when clearly some issues are hardware related which people do not have knowledge about the software/hardware can identity ?
why service center people cannot identify and charges extra for update software?
