I will just add another unanswered question, but it at least feels good to do so.

My screen had a shock and got it replaced. Got my phone back and no way to turn it on.

It is very strange :

-If I plug it to my computer the blue light appears and I can hear the typical Windows USB recognition and nothing happen. PC Companion never finds the phone.

-When I plug it normally to 220v (with original cable) that's where it gets odd. The red light appears about 1 or 2 seconds. The Sony appears on the screen and phone vibrates. Red light goes dead straignt after vibration and screen goes black. Then the red lights come again for a few second, and same again Sony on the screen a few seconds... and so on... It goes on a loop but never charges and no way to switch it on.

No clue of what it could be...

Help would be appreciated even if I have not much hope.

Your battery disconected, open it up and symply connect battery jack back

Re: Sony Xperia Z - Dead, won't turn on, won't charge, PC doesn't recognise

Have you tried this yet?

My Z3 would not power up and no charge LED when cable plugged in. Finally found this solution on Sonymobile support website which fixed my phone!

To force the device to restart

Detach the SIM card slot cover.
Using the tip of a pen or similar object, press and hold down the small OFF button (generally indicated by the text "OFF") until the device has emitted three vibrations, and then release the OFF button. The device turns off automatically.
Charge the device until a charging icon appears on the screen.
Turn on your Xperia™ device.
If a forced restart procedure as described above doesn't succeed in turning on your device, you should try another kind of forced restart - the 2-minute restart procedure.

To force a 2-minute restart

Detach the SIM card slot cover.
Using the tip of a pen or similar object, press and hold down the small OFF button (generally indicated by the text "OFF") for 120 seconds (ignoring any vibrations), and then release the OFF button.
Charge the device until a charging icon appears on the screen.
Turn on your Xperia™ device.

I had to hold the 'off' button for about 60 seconds before the phone vibrated and sprung into life - phew!

Re: Sony Xperia Z - Dead, won't turn on, won't charge, PC doesn't recognise

Having the same problem.

let your phone charge for a couple of hours as the slow flashing red light while charging means that your battery is completly dead.

then take off charge.

to reboot, first hold down the power button and whille holding it, press and hold down the volume up button until you feel 1 short sharp vibration. release both buttons and as soon as you do, it should reboot.

reboot wont work if you get to 3 vibrationsits which comes after the one short sharp vibation.

the reboot should turn your phone on using safe mode..... im still working on how to get it out of safe mode....

very important to remember to hold the power button first, and while holding it, press and hold down the volume up button.

dont press and hold down the power button and the volume up button simultaneously, the reboot wont work.

Re: my z1 wont trun on wont charge wont trun on charging led and wont rebooting

Hi tAyyaba,

Welcome to the community,

This sounds like it could be a Boot issue, however it seems you have followed the correct path so far. In this case I would suggest trying a software repair on the handset to try resolve this issue.

Please see the instructions below.

Here's how to run the repair on PC Companion:

1. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
2. Phone Software Update.
3. Start.
4. Repair Phone
5. Continue
6. Accept data removal
7. Next
8. Wait for prepare
9. Select Phone
10. Follow the connection steps

And Bridge for Mac:

1. Launch Bridge for MAC without the handset connected.
2. On the Main Window select "Xperia > Repair Xperia Device".
3. Ensure the phone is charged and select "Ok" in the following window.
4. Select Continue on the following page.
5. Wait until the initialising step is finished the continue as below.
6 . Select your model of phone from the list that appears
7. Follow the connection steps that appear, ensuring that you are holding the relevant button down before during and after the connection phase until the update/repair begins.

Let us know how you get on.

That's fine, even though the PC cannot see the device, you should still be able to go through the repair process.

Re: Sony Xperia Z - Dead, won't turn on, won't charge, PC doesn't recognise

Please try a 2amp charger with a smaller USB wire.

Your charging problem will be solved.

Thanks
