Re: Now lets be clear about the Anti-Shatter film!

i think what Pritesh81 meant was with the screen cracked, all water and dust resistance certification becomes invalid. which is true. because the certification is based on the complete non defective working product. once the screen or any part of the phone is cracked or broken. it becomes invalid.

and once the lcd crack, your display and/or touchscreen capability won't work, in most cases.

Well, Sony was not certified unbreakable. In this case, the more we need the latest Shutter Proof Film in my last post. You can hammer or drill on the film without damaging your touch screen. CES certified.

I doubt that a film can protect the LCD from breaking if you hit it with a hammer

On a slightly separate note - my Z's back is also scratched and I was wondering if I remove the ASF from the back - will the xperia logo be gone as well?

Re: Now lets be clear about the Anti-Shatter film!

from what i can remember, only the Sony on the front is printed on the ASF. not the back. someone in XDA actually peeled of both ASF on the front and back. but i can't find the link at the moment. will add when i found it later

50% Percent is not so expensive. Winking Face

The Display (Sony Repair) cost 383,53 € + 5,11€ Shipping - a new Z cost 430€ (Ebay) Shipping incl.

Customer: This is Madness!

Sony: Madness? This is SONY!

@pritesh81 don't create new threads on the same topic, you already know the answer, you have to take your phone to a Sony repair center, warranty does NOT cover this.

Re: Now lets be clear about the Anti-Shatter film!

Believe technology is there just the cost. Film is used for military equipments so I believe the toughness is better than gorilla glass. Anyway, they are not the first as there is also Zaggshield claiming similar protective qualities. The future should actually be the Sapphire screen though.
