Double tap for standby

Hello everybody

I recently bought my Xperia XZ3 after using my Xperia Z3 for about 4 years. There is one option that I have been searching for desperately on my XZ3.

It's not possible to double tap the home screen for turning off the screen. On my Z3 this option worked really well. Hopefully, I didn't overlook a setting option 😄 does anybody has similiar experiences with this issue?

Re: Double tap for standby

Hi @kleyk, welcome to our community and congratulations on your new Xperia device! Slightly smiling Face

The feature called "Tap to sleep" is not available on the Xperia XZ3, that is why you aren't able to find the setting. On the Xperia XZ3 you will need to turn the display off using the power button, or wait until it automatically turns off, based on the time you chose in Settings > Display > Sleep.

I hope that answers your question and have a nice weekend! Slightly smiling Face

Re: Double tap for standby

Yeah I loved double-tap to wake/sleep on my XZ too and used it religiously. It was seemless design for sure.

What is really annoying is that the supportive software/hardware exists in the XZ3 but they simply won't activate it in options. For tap to wake, you must first activate the 'Ambient Screen', then you can double tap to get to the Ambient Screen, then wait a couple seconds, then double tap again to get to lock screen. It's become very contrived.

Unfortunately though, double tap to sleep seems completely off the deck.
