LinkedIn and Facebook Notifications Not Working

I'm having major problems with both Facebook and LinkedIn notifications specifically.  I've enabled all notification settings on both apps - both in-app and in the app permissions and I'm not receiving the notifications.  i have spent at least 3-4 hours trying to figure out settings with other people by comparing phone settings to someone that has an XZ1 to no avail.  Here is a break out between the 2 apps:

Facebook:

  • Can receive notifications per how I want them to show up (including on my locked screen) but ONLY for comments on my status
  • Cannot receive notifications at all when people react or like my status despite having these enabled both in-app and via the app permissions settings on the phone
    • By this I mean that not only do I not receive a notification dot, but I also do not receive a notification on my locked screen and nor do I receive a blue dot on the app itself
  • Do not know what other notifications I am not able to receive at the moment but this is an issue!

LinkedIn:

  • Can receive notifications per how I want them to show up but ONLY for LinkedIn messages
  • Cannot receive any other notifications at all when people do anything else despite having these enabled both within the app permissions and via the app permissions settings on the phone
    • By this I mean that not only do I not receive a notification dot, but I also do not receive a notification on my locked screen and nor do I receive a blue dot on the app itself

Switching from Apple and Android has been possibly the most difficult task I've ever had to do with even the simplest of tasks taking hours to figure out or re-configure (take this notification irritation as an example)....and I'm not exactly someone who doesn't understand technology as I work in it!
