Add vibrate to Do Not Disturb

Hi,

I found that "Do Not Disturb" sets the handset to "silent".

I'd rather see if there is any chance to make the sound profile available to "vibrate" as an option.

It is a very handy feature to be able to sync our calendar with the app -even in 3rd party apps is not possible, but I do miss to being able to be notified of calls, messages...

PS: I understand that it wouldn't be fully "Do not disturb" then but still. :smileysmileywink:

Re: Add vibrate to Do Not Disturb

In the last few weeks, I have sort of assumed that there is no native Sony app or setting that schedules sound profiles according to (busy) calendar events on the phone.

Setting it up by location is not feasible as I could be moving through six or seven different locations throughout the day.

Do Not Disturb is what comes closer, syncing calendars with muting the phone as I seem to have a rather set number of fairly appointments -in time.

I have discovered that when phone is on silent via DND, vibration still comes to smartwatch and ringing to bluetooth headset, so I'd be still alerted of any notification received if I have any of those on at the time.

There are third party apps. I haven't tried Google Assistant but may have a go.

Re: Add vibrate to Do Not Disturb

If you turn the volume down it will enable vibrate only.

That should enable you to notice calls and messages, but no sound.

Re: Add vibrate to Do Not Disturb

Hi @Automat,

Do I understand correctly that you want a mode in the device so you only get vibrations, no sounds? If that is correct, please do as @RuneJ wrote and lower the volume and when it reaches 0, your device will be set to vibration mode and you will not get any sounds, however the device will vibrate on incoming calls, text messages and so forth.

The Do Not Disturb mode will silence the device in all modes (silent, only alarms, priority) however the priority mode has some extra settings that you can enable, for example to let certain contacts through with sound.

Let us know if that helps and sorry if I misunderstood your question! Slightly smiling Face

Re: Add vibrate to Do Not Disturb

Not good because it wouldn't sync with the calendar.

Re: Add vibrate to Do Not Disturb

Please elaborate a bit more.

-What does not sync with calendar when in vibrate only?

Re: Add vibrate to Do Not Disturb

Your option.

Manually lowering down the volume to vibrate is not what I am looking for.

"Do not disturb" syncs with calendar but doesn't vibrate. Manual switch to vibration doesn't sync.

Re: Add vibrate to Do Not Disturb

Ahh, you are refering to scheduling and that the do-not-disturb can be set to automatically enable at given times and days of the week.

Then you're out of luck, the vibrate is only manual.

And do-not-disturb function is ment to be exactly what it says; Do not disturb.

However, perhaps the use of Google Assistant can schedule a routine or function that turns the volume to vibrate at given times and back to normal again the next morning, etc?

Re: Add vibrate to Do Not Disturb

Hi!

Here's a good option to do what you want.

Download the Smart connect App from the PlayStore (here's the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sonyericsson.extras.liveware).

There you can create events based on device connections and time periods. You can then choose actions, which in your case would be "Sund Mode" Vibrate.

I hope it helps.
