When the screen is inactive, we are supposed to swipe up to receive an incoming call. However, I could not receive a call even though I swipe UP many times. What is happening to my phone, SONY?

Yes, I have the problem, too. Not always, but from time to time.
Pressing the power button two times ( lock-unlock) helps with this issue.

I experienced it once but the quick workaround is to just quickly turn on and off the screen as said above. Hope Sony will give us a hotfix.

This is a weird UI bug I sometimes also get when receiving calls. Touchscreen is disabled when this happens. Note that the screen was off when I got the call so there shouldn't be any nav buttons.

Thanks, I posted about this problem late July. Will try the on-off trick.

It's late August 2018 and I'm still experiencing this problem. Come on Sony, this is a basic phone function, please fix this ASAP!

Every time we get a software update, I'm hoping this bug is gone.
I have the feeling that when you have the phone in your pocket when receiving a call, multiple bugs are still there.
The screen doesn't seem to respond to the ambient light sensor.
The screen is very dim, making it hard to see who is calling.
And as others have noted in this thread, sometimes it's really hard to accept the call.
You really have to swipe up hard, or use the on/off trick.
When is this going to be fixed?
Would it be possible to shorten the swipe to answer a call?
Or make it an option in the settings to adjust for a long or short swipe?

We have a "Prevent accidental operations with screen off" option in Display settings, I wonder if that has anything to do with it...

Got this issue too. Except my phone did reboot last time it happened, which I think proves it isn't me doing something wrong.
But, this isn't a support thread. Are we really just complaining to one another?
