XZ1
XA1
Look at those pictures cropped on the picture at the same scene. The photo that is taken by XZ1 is more pixelated, less detailed and more softened than the XA1 does. Look at the photo taken by XZ1, there are lots of artifacts, especially on the edges and the lines. Although it is Sony's latest flagship, why doesn't it takes better picture than XA1.
Sony must fixed this software issue in their new flagship at once.

Hi
Go onto your camera and select
Super Auto i
Then press the "gear cog" symbol and you will see your camera quality settings.
Ex 8mp 4.3. . 8mp16.9
20.1Mp. 4.3. . 20.1 mp. 16.9
20.1 Mp. 16.9. Is the highest quality setting.
The pictures do not come any better than a Xperia xz
Hope that helps.

Unfortunately no, changing image configuration will not yield a better result. The camera software applies a sharpening pass, which somehow destroys the data from neighboring pixels. This is easy to see by taking a macro picture and looking at the background blur. Instead of vague out-of-focus shapes you will be presented with clusters of sharpened pixels.
I suggest writing to Support asking to prioritize camera fixes image fixes. That's what I have just done.
