Re: Smart connect options.

Hi, I found this discussion very helpful. I did as you wrote on my xz1 compact. It works perfectly. When I got my new compact I was furious it doesn't have at least all abilities that my old z3 compact did, but ticsjp to your discussion I'm satisfied with this phone. Thanks a lot.

Re: Smart connect options.

Hi, I actually switched to Llama, as it is easier to use, and the other option sometimes did not work, or only once after which I world have to start up the app again.

With Llama this problem is fixed.

Re: Smart connect options.

Hi, Automate works for me fine. MAybe with you, it was a matter of template you used. I used template from some Netherlands guy, just adjusted it to plugin and my car audio.

Re: Smart connect options.

Was probably my template, and yes it usually works fine, but sometimes (for me) it gave an error message after which the hotspot state did not change anymore), I have emailed the author of automate about this and maybe he made some changes.

Anyway, in the mean time I already switched to Llama which didn't have the issue, and I turned out to like the interface a bit easier and natural (even though automate's gui and visual display of the macros is pretty slick) Slightly smiling Face

Re: Smart connect options.

I think so like Koets...

I could automatically enable/disabale the data mobile when it recognized (or not) my wifi home connection... Now, it is not possible anymore with XZ1.

It's annoying so much !!!

...i havent just read the whole post... :-| ..

I have just used automate, but some options need rooted privilege and so as workoround the differentandroid limitation set, i use a mix about Automate Triger and Tasker ( not so very confortable..)

Re: Smart connect options.

Been reading this post to solve the same issue and I stumbled on a solution to fix Smart Connect in the downloaded app from Google.

Search for Smart Connect in the Settings Menu and bring up the App Info.

Scroll down to Advanced and tick Yes to Modify system settings.

Close down the Smart Connect app.

Reboot the phone.

Reopen Smart Connect and you should find the Wi-Fi hotpsot and other settings such as Brightness.

Worked for me.

Re: Smart connect options.

Hi @melloyell8, welcome to our community!

That was a very interesting find and thank you so much for sharing the information with us.

I did not have this information available and if I did, I would have shared it. The information that I have/had is that the application is being phased out, however I will of course make them aware of what you wrote.

Thanks again and have an awesome weekend!

Re: Smart connect options.

I have tried all above solutions, but hotspot not opening. Including reinstall OS via PC Suit, format, safe mode but still same.

And also I have mailed The Sony Support, they answer me to connect the local distributor.
