Since the Pie Update on My Xperia XZ Premium.
The perfomance is terrible and the i cannot interact with the touchscreen some of the time.
This requires hard reset and is happening over 10 times per day.
Have performed a system recovery using Xperia Comapanion.
Has not solved problem.
Also the volume up button isnt working anymore.

Since you already performed a software repair, I recommend you to contact your local support team and explain the whole situation and if the phone needs to be examined.

Facing same issue... Every time after upgrade firmware, the phone more terrible... This pie are the worst. Some time ui stopped, sometimes system hang...cannot click home or back button. Factory default still the same. Rubbish software development in sony Xperia xz premium

Mines exactly the same, since updating to pie 9 I keep getting system ui not responding plus the volume up button hardly works, I have the same phone and also done a software repair via Sony companion and still no joy it's driving me mad. have you come across a fix?

Having a non-functional physical key might indicate a hardware issue. You should contact your local support and get the phone inspected by a professional.

Experience the same issue too. Totally frustrating. Phone hang. Screen freeze. Auto restart many times a day. Volume up not working. Done software as they suggested. Nothing improved.
Sending the phone will mean paying and I'm skeptical there's a solution.
As I typed here, my Sony has hang twice and self restart on its own.
I've called Sony and they said they didn't much feedback regarding such an issue when I now find so many others having the same problem. Is this a self denial issue? I am expecting better service from Sony but I'm disappointed. Even more angry as I use my phone to work and communicate with clients. 😡😡😠
Please let me know if anyone manage to resolve by sending phone in for Sony to service. Appreciate.

hey guys literally everyone posts problems and issues after a pie update... specifically says after pie update... anyone tried going to back to oreo.. flashing the last working oreo version to see and check if its hardware problem or not. if flashing is tricky guess u can ask service centre to install oreo firmware and then check how its working. if same problem persists then only u can confirm its hardware issue and not pie update issue.

I'm going to take a wild guess and assume everyone here has had the phone for close to 2 years. This just seems like another business trick to get us to buy new phones. Apple and Samsung have been caught out on this, I'm going to assume Sony has just not been caught yet.
My phone which is due for upgrade in 2 weeks has also been giving issues after an update 2 months ago. Volume up button stopped working even longer before that. System UI not responding comes up almost every time i unlock my phone.
It is disgraceful that a compnay of this size purposefully releases bugs to older phones in hopes of more business. Sony will not see me as a customer again.
