I havent noticed any lag or shuttering. But I also went in under developer options and changed all the animation scales to ".5". Everything is running super smooth.
Will update on battery after a few days of use.

The apps are there but the content of each page is blank. it's not an issue for me as I know the app i want and don;t need to see whats on the screen for that app. I just select it and go on with life.

Good thing you got it to work!
Totally agree with you, black tabs when switching is not a problem.
The difference in sharpness is noticeable and once you're used to this high res you can't go back
Tip: If you use firefox for browsing you can adjust the resolution by typing in url about:config
then search for layout.css.devPixelsPerPx and adjust it to 2 or 2.5
This will make you get almost the desktop version of webpages with tiny text which I love < 3
Keep writing 4k tips here, still discovering what to do with my xzp.
I just ordered a bobo vr z5, will post when it arrives.

Try the resolution 1890x3360 and density 720
Everything is working fine. No dialer crashes.
but blackscreen preview is still there.

Hi, it was revealed by a mobile phone reviewer enabling 4K resolution all the time causes phone dialer to not function, apps to lag & heating when viewing video contents. All this doesn't sound very desirable & worth the trouble since most of the apps are better rendered in 1080p & UHD resolution is automatically enabled when available, the trade off is more inconvenience for marginally noticeable viewing pleasure.

You are right by reducing the screen resolution & DPI density because some apps can't handle it, but I would like to know with these reductions on the display will it effect when rendering media contents in 4K & HDR?

So everyone knows, this doesn't actually enable 4K.
This only emulates 4K. the physical size never changes from 1080x1920.
The emulation just scales up/down the xxhdpi image resources, so you're actually getting a lower quality image than true 2K. (For eample, if you take a screenshot with your Sony, then the same screenshot from a device with a 1440x2560 screen and scale it up with an image editor to the same 4K dimentions, the 2K's images will be much sharper.)
Physical screen size is controled by the kernel, and Sony does not give you permission to change it in any way. Basically, it's like they sold you a car, then you find out you can only drive it on the roads they allow, and the car will stop if you try to drive it down the regular road.

Can true 4k be achieved with root privileges or in some other way?
We really want to "drive the car on all roads"
