When I make a call or receive a call, often times the mic does not work. I can hear the other person, but they cannot hear me.
I noticed that if I answer the phone and put it on speaker phone, it activates the mic, and then I can turn speaker phone off, and the mic will work fine. This leads me to believe it is a software issue, so I'm hoping a software update could fix it.
This issue is on going and very annoying. Also, before anyone asks: No, I am not muting the other person by accident. And no, my mic is not covered up. The phone is in pristine condition.

Hi, I'm having the same problem. It isn't a problem when using Bluetooth through the car. It is immensely annoying however and sometimes I just have to restart the phone. Seems software related to me

I've identified that it is now hardware related. I am going to return it to be fixed. I am not pleased that my phone has broken after only a month! Poor show!

Returning the phone only helps temporarily. you get it back with additional Italian installed which you can't remove and after the next security update the problem comes back immediately. Sony has to release an update where the program that is causing the problem is completely removed.

I was having the same issue and for whatever reason, I disabled xreality (image setting) and turned it back on and the mic worked.

I reproduced the issue by switching XReality on and off. It goes from garbled to crystal clear.
Thank you for making my phone usable again.

My mic isn't working either, no matter what I do. I don't think, that it is a software issue in my case. There seem to be at least two different mics in the xzp and the one used for phone calls seems to break more easy, as I found this topic also in other forums.
I'll send my xzp in for repair (in Germany) and hope to get it fixed, even though I haven't read many positive statements about the Sony repair and customer service yet. I'll share my xzperience with you.
