Same problem with Samsung Gear S3 which costs a lot not to be synchronized in call audio.
Sorry but unless you do something about it I ll have to change my phone and be sure I ll tell everybody the reason why. Nice advertisment isnt it?
There is something called competition, if you are aware of, and a lot of smartphones without bt problems.
So fix it as soon as possible.

Just had my new Xperia ultra xa and paired to my Mazda CX5 but no audio is coming through the system.
Checking through it seems that the audio is disabled and cannot change manually.

Disable the Bluetooth scan from Location menu.
Sorry it's in Hebrew but you do
Settings-location-scan- un tick the Bluetooth option.

I found this solution in other board but this don't solve the problem for me !
Still unable to use voice calls on my Xperia XA Ultra dual sim on my car.
I'm not sure but it seems the problem appears since the last major update no ?

So, this problem doesnt seems to be sony specific (it seems to be also a problem with LG, Motorola and so on). This workaround helped me with my XA (Android 6.0.1, security update january):
1.) Open your device's Settings app Settings.
2.) Under "Personal," tap Location: Tap Mode and then Device only.
1.) Enter into your Car, start the cars audio system
2.) Enable the "flight-mode" on your phone
3.) Disable the "flight-mode" on your phone
4.) Your phone connects now with audio working
Tested on my Renault Kadjar with R-Link2 (Software Version 803)
Very dirty, we really need a fix or an update to android 7.0 for the XA!
