small red light on Proximity sensor when 3g/4g data transmission

I'm running Nougat 34.2.A.0.311 and i'm from India...No it doesn't go away in Nougat...See my post below or above...I'm also having this problem...I purchased it before two weeks

Hi all,

Just discovered the 'small red led', Google is my best friend and brought me here.

I'm using a battery app, which allows me to set 4 quick type's off brightness,

- Full power

- Half power

- Low power

- Automatic

Only when I select automatic the red light will appear.

brother man that's the problem... just switch n the data (mobile data) then see with whatever settings you've in your phone...if the redlight (proximity sensor) blinks while transferring data(while sending & receiveing data)..then we're on the same page...post a pic if possible...nobody has a solution yet.

Not only when data is on but Proximity sensor is turned on even on lock screen (after waking up device) and at that time sensor is turned on irrespective of data/WiFi.

Is it a feature or bug?

It's a bug i guess because none of my xperia's or other branded phones had this problem...this is having this problem...i don't know if sony officials sees this page and our issues...and i think this proximity sensor thing just consumes a awful lot of battery.

Hello sony users,

I solved problem that small red light on proximity sensor.The Solution is to disable the auto  brightness in setting.
