I'm afraid the problem for some has been going on for months with no fix.
Sony and Twitter have proven to be unhelpful.
twidere and other Twitter apps are your only recourse for now. I use the browser version too
but none have the same breadth of functionality that the twitter app had

Yesterday, after around 8 months of owning my X, Twitter has just decided not to work and to log me out everytime I close it.
Nothing had been updated on my phone that could have caused this - os was updated about a week ago and Google play says Twitter hasn't been updated. This is so frustrating and I can see that this has been happening for others for a while.
Has anyone managed to find a solution?

again, sony have proven to be unhelpful and twitter more so.
None of their devlprs can be contacted, only sony devices having this issue, surely they should let twitter know?
there is no response from sony about whether this is being followed up.

Contacted @Sonyxperiagb on twitter and the reply was:
"Hi @k_birc! We're doing our best to resolve this. Please keep an eye out for the next Android update. Thank you for your patience, Mary"
So looks like Xperia acknowledge that it is their issue.

I got another android and sony update recently that didn't fix it.
Hopeful this tweet is for a future fix

I had an unrelated problem solved by switching my default browser
Maybe this is related?
The problem was outlook wouldn't load multiple accounts. Switching my default browser (back) to Chrome, adding the accounts and then switching back to Firefox fixed this problem.
I'm also having problems with SoundCloud & office - I suspect they're all related. Switching my default browser didn't fix these issues.
