Option to switch to front camera missing

My selfie camera on my new Sony Xperia X stopped working recently. I have done everything suggested 1. Clearing cache and data 2. Restarting the phone 3. Investigating the problem in safe mode.

The problem still persists and the icon to switch to front camera is missing in all apps.

I am reluctant to do a factory reset as I've seen multiple people do this and the problem remains.

Could someone please help with this?

Re: Option to switch to front camera missing

Hi @Sonyuser248, sorry to hear about this.

If none of the troubleshooting methods that you mentioned has managed to get the camera switcher back, I would suggest that you try to repair the software in the phone using Xperia companion and a computer. Keep in mind though that a software repair will bot replace your current software with a new one and erase all user data, so make sure to do a backup of your user data before the repair.

If the switcher still does not appear after the software repair, I would suggest that you get in contact with your local support team in order to have the phone sent to an authorized service center. If you have any questions regarding the service, such as routines, warranty and consumer laws, these type of questions are best answered by your local support team as well, as they vary between markets.

Let me know how it goes!
