Unreleable alarm clock on Oreo

After the last upgrade (to Oreo) the alarm clock became unreleable. Sometimes it just doesn't show. Since the update, it happened twice. I use the standard Sony alarm clock.

Re: Unreleable alarm clock on Oreo

Hello everyone!

You might experience that your recurring alarm sometimes does not ring. This is a known behaviour that will be corrected in a later software release.

Note! Software updates are released at different times depending on the operator, market, region or country. Therefore, we cannot give you an exact date for when a specific update will be available for your device. In addition, network operators and specific markets may choose not to use the updates for specific models.

Until the new software is available, try one the following workarounds:

  • Disable your recurring alarm and enable it again every time you want to set the alarm, for instance, every night.
  • Set a couple of alarms with some minutes in between, for instance, 7:00 AM and 7:05 AM.

Affected software: 41.3.A.2.58 or earlier on Android 8

Re: Unreleable alarm clock on Oreo

I am having the same problem as well. The alarm doesn't work always.

Also the settings for the volume seem to be gone. Now the alarm is really loud when it does work.

Re: Unreleable alarm clock on Oreo

I've missed my meds 2 days in a row due to the alarm not working.

Never had a device affect my health before.

It's like a really rubbish episode of Black Mirror.

Re: Unreleable alarm clock on Oreo

Why is this still an issue? I shouldn't have to turn the alarm on every night that's the point of a recurring one. I've only just been making it to work on time, I don't want to have to go out and buy an alarm clock when I'm paying for a premium device that should be able to do this!
