Audio microphone problem

Hi,

 

I have been using Sony Audio Recorder on my phone for ages without problems. However, the last two recordings I tried to make were empty. Testing it now, the microphone test tells me that it can't pick up any sound.

 

I tried downloading a different audio recording app and get the same problem. This happens on both apps with the phone on its own or with the headset plugged in.

 

However, if I use other apps like Skype, or just make a phone call, then the microphone works fine. All the apps concerned have permission to use the microphone to record audio and to save files.

 

I can't work out what is going on, and would be very grateful for any comments or suggestions.

I solved the problem by the simple and obvious expedient of re-starting the phone.

 

Sorry to have wasted anyone's time.
