Re: New Firmware 6.1.A.2.55, So Whats New?

But WIFI still works only on 54MB, nevertheless that phone support 802.11n WLAN protocol.  I hoped that the new firmware upgrade will eliminate this issue. Or am I the only one experiencing this issue. And yes, my router is configured properly.

Micholus, I have found the same with wifi speeds. 54Mb only. We have an xperia P that connects at about 72Mb but my XS always seems to be slower.

Those lame soft buttons are as useless as ever.

Re: New Firmware 6.1.A.2.55, So Whats New?

The major new features I see compared to previous version is this:

1) "Think about what you are doing for a while" feature.

Telephone randomly freezes. You can not press any buttons, and the screen does not respond to touches. Application independent. Lasts for 5-10 seconds. Higher chance of probability when there is poor connection to data.

Why it is a feature: Recently I made the mistake to buy a xperia T for my girlfriend, and it has the same tendency. It must be a well designed feature to prevent drunk texting.

2)"Connect with your surroundings" feature .

It takes 12 seconds to access phonebook. The "infinity view" takes 6 seconds to open for a contact. You can enjoy the view and your surroundings while your phone is trying to remember the telephone number.

Well, the screen has yellowish bands appearing underneath, and it is a pain to even call someone. I am very sorry about my poor decision buying this phone.

Re: New Firmware 6.1.A.2.55, So Whats New?

Finally, Sony has fixed the camera Quick Launch bug! Although, its a bit too late for me as i've already moved on to other brand, but i had kept my xperia s with slight hope that these bugs might be eventually ironed out someday. Nice to know that sony actually fixed it along with other bugs. Now, i'm interested in what sony has to offer in future, coz i'd previously almost swore not to buy sony again (as they wouldn't listen/ fix these bugs in ICS)!
