Xperia M5 completely dead... again.

I first purchased my Xperia M5 in September, and since then I have had many problems. The clock would freeze, phone would shut down and restart, camera would freeze, etc etc. It got to the point where my first phone shut down completely and would not turn on. I took it to the Xperia support in Bangkok - they staff didn't ask any questions, simply said it would take 2 weeks to fix and shipped the phone off. This was in the beginning of May, 2017. Now I am on to my second Xperia M5 (free through warranty) and I have the exact same problems, only this time happening much sooner. It has hardly been a month and already my new Xperia is dead and not turning on, depsite having a full charge and trying all the resetting techniques I've seen on the internet. I am extremely dissapointed with this phone. It is such a waste to go get ANOTHER new product, even if it is still under warranty. It is extremely inconvienient for work and I simply do not want to support Sony any more. My partner has the exact same phone and is experiencing the same problems, only his is no longer under warranty and he will now have to pay to have his repaired again (for the third time). Is anyone else having these issues? Is it possible to get a full refund for a phone if I am still under warranty? Many thanks in advance. Evelyn

Re: Xperia M5 completely dead... again.

This is only a suggestion im not sure if this will work. First, if you have a sony xperia companion (PC) try to repair it or try to update your android version if you haven't tried. If this 2 options did not work then i suggest you to return it again in customer service and let them fixed it.

PS. Dont forget to back your files first.

I hope this could help you.

Hello. That topic is exactly my thoughts today. Annoying traffic-eating update reminder, PC-companion update fail, repair fail - and here we are again.

Camera, Power, Update, Power-Cut, that M5 looks like bucket of troubles.

Thought i need to provide whole story to share a pain. First troubles was on fall 2016. After 6 month of good service. Phone started to power-off in some areas (so it seemed) and could be powered back again by button. Nothing very special, only 1-2 minutes of life lost. Then on 11 month - flash and both cameras became unavailable. That is where story starts. Lucky - there was a warranty - and service accepted device for diagnostics. During first iteration camera activity was restored. Bus suddenly - problem started with backlight foil - it became curved. So device was gived back for another 45 days. After new screen was installed - there was crackle found, oil-fobic cover over top of screen was missing, some cell-covers over speakers was rippled and device started to power-cut with charged battery and could not be powered back unless plugged to charger. Another 45 days missing and experiencing an Chinese spare 4g. Finally i was provided with brand-new E5663. And guess what? From the start - it made an software update. Another update announced ready. Annoying traffic-eating update reminder, PC-companion update fail, repair fail - and here we are again. I got useless brick. Started to hate SONY MOBILE.

Re: Xperia M5 completely dead... again.

Image same issue with my M5 from the very first day I bought it in india, and now am in Europe.  The fon trips off or freezes every time and it takes at times 3 days to come up.

Simply, the model is worst fon ever by Sony.its a shame to Sony.
