Re: M4 Ram issue, shows only 883 MB...

Hi everyone!

I have just received a reply from the team I escalated this to and they have concluded that this is related to a component failure. If you are experiencing that the RAM memory is about half of what it should be I recommend that you have your device sent for repairs at an authorized service centre in order to have this sorted out. The easiest way to proceed with doing this is by contacting your Local support team as they will have more information on local service and warranty procedures in your area.

I'm really sorry for any and all inconvenience this causes for you!

Re: M4 Ram issue, shows only 883 MB...

Hi Didrik,

Thank you for following this up and coming up with a solution.

With my device sent 2 days ago to the "local" repair center, i feel i did the right thing!

Now let's see what solution SONY proposes to those still under warranty and those not!!

Best regards,

BH06

Re: M4 Ram issue, shows only 883 MB...

Hi @BH06,

I agree, sending in the phone was the right decision. I'm sorry I didn't have a reply sooner than I did. I'm hoping for a quick and easy solution for all of you that experience this.

For warranty related question I recommend that you contact your to your local support team as they will have more information on that subject.

Please let me know how it goes!

Hi didrik
Well at least they didnt try to say water damage, but it unfortunately is not component related. We all had this issue occur when we updated to marshmallow

This is a hardware issue. I had this problem with lollipop, without updating anything.

Actually I had this problem before upgrading. Upgrading just made it worse.

Re: M4 Ram issue, shows only 883 MB...

Not convinced this is a RAM issue.

I'm running lollipop , had full RAM for 2 days not updating installing anything.

Sent a whats app message this morning, blue screen of death followed by boot looping. Forced shutdown, reboot and RAM is normal still. ? Question why is connecting to third party servers causing failure?

Re: M4 Ram issue, shows only 883 MB...

Hi All,

I just received a parcel. It is a Sony M4.. apparently a brand new one.. or refurbished, there isn't much details on the return form.

It is now charging before booting.. i'll let you know if i notice anything worth mentionning but it seems the solution to the problem is to replace the phone (lucky mine was still under warranty).

I hope this helps,

Best regards
