Xperia L1 home has changed

Hello, I recently did a factory reset on my G3311 (Xperia L1). The home / apps screen has changed a bit. In particular, I no longer have the option to 'swipe up' to access my apps. I have gone through all the updates since resetting the device but I can't get it back. Also, I used to press and hold an app and get the option to delete it, but now it's via the 'manage apps' option in the menu. Is there an update I have missed?

I don't have this phone to test it but

what if you long press anywhere on the homescreen > settings > Enable swipe up

That's odd, you are not using a third party home launcher correct?
