For two weeks now Facebook has been down on my phone, it tells me we cannot do English UK currently. No connection at all.

Thanks for that!
If it is the application you are using, can you try going to settings > apps > Facebook > storage > clear data > back to the previous menu > force stop
Once you have done that restart the phone and try again.
