Xperia 1 Camera 12mp 9mp 9mp

Re: Xperia 1 Camera 12mp 9mp 9mp

Taking a 16:9 ratio photo is basically cropping the top and bottom off a 4:3 ratio photo thus using less of the sensor. The resulting 16:9 image is actually smaller than a 4:3 image which probably explains why it's stated as 9mp. But all 3 sensors are 12mp.

What is listed are not the sensors, but the ratio of your pictures.

Sensors are the x1, x2 and W "zoom" (x2 only if good light conditions).

That is not a Sony thing, all cameras does that way since almost all sensors are 4/3 (really few exceptions and not for smartphone)

Re: Xperia 1 Camera 12mp 9mp 9mp

All sensors are capable of taking 12mp photos.

The thing you've confused yourself with is the cropped aspect ratio, not the mp.

That menu is NOT how you change lens
