How to remove What's New ?

How to remove What's New ?

failing that,

How to disable What's New?

failing that,

How to disable "What's New" notifications, including notifications about itself.

(I have already tried app-settings "Allow peeking=no" and "Treat as priority=no". But notifications still appear for software updates even though I have disabled the apps for which the updates are for).

.How do I disable the built-in What's New app?

Hello there.

I have a Z2 tablet, SGP521 on Android 6.0.1 and I notice that there is no way to turn off irritating notifications from the Whats New App that I dont need or want.  Can this app be disabled and/or removed?

Many thanks,  Chris

it seems that in some markets you can disable it

settings > apps > whatsnew > disable

Tired of Sony's advertising

I have a Z3 Compact, and I've really had enough of receiving constant advertising popups of useless Sony products through the inane and annoying What's New app, which apparently cannot be disabled, or removed from my device. I don't care about the games, or stupid celebrity birthdays, or any of the other crap that pops up on the screen of the phone that I paid my hard earned money for. Why is this neccessary, and how can it be stopped?

For those of you who wish to get rid of some of the stock apps: Heres a template
You can get rid of more of the Sony ones, but I kept a few for my school assignments like the PSN network.

I don't do this happy puky rainbow... I hate life as it is, black white and blood..

You can disable Privilege Plus, and there's 5 additional apps I've installed myself.

Email and Calendar can go too.

It leaves you with Albums, Music, Video, Phone, Download, Messaging, Clock, Radio and Contacts and Camera

File Commander, Kobodo Bookythingo, LinkedIn, Facebook, Office Suite are gone too.

You don't need maps, or Authenticator or youtube:

Re: Get rid of "What's New"

I just wish anyone told how to get the result shown in the pictures. Tried it today, the Disable button is greyed out so I cannot disable the app without rooting the phone.
