Android 8.0 Oreo When are we getting it? which Xperias will be updated?

As of right now, there isn't a list of which Xperias will be updated

Even when the list it's released, we will have to wait for the release date

Even after there's a release date, just like any other update, we will have to wait for the update to be approved and released in each country/region; if your phone is or was locked to a carrier / network, it will be up to them to approve and release the update.

You can always manually update the phone, this is how:

Manual update.

UPDATE

Just as you’ve likely seen Google unveil Android™ 8.0 Oreo*, here at Sony we’ve seen lots of questions on our upgrade roadmap and plans – so, here goes…

We will make Android 8.0, Oreo available for: Xperia X, Xperia X Performance, Xperia XZ, Xperia X Compact, Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XZs, Xperia XA1, Xperia XA1 Ultra, Xperia Touch and Xperia XA1 Plus**  (Xperia XZ1 & Xperia XZ1 Compact will launch on Android Oreo).

We’ve been working hard to bring this major update to as many of our devices as possible – so stay tuned to the blog and @SonyMobileNews for all the latest as it happens.

*Android is a trademark of Google Inc.; Oreo is a trademark of Mondelez International, Inc. **Software rollouts are a phased process – timing and availability will vary by market and/or operator. Most models supported but some operator/market exceptions will apply.

XA and XA Ultra Android 8 Update

An early Android blog (The Leaker), dated July 26, 2017, posted a list of Sony Devices that will likely get Android 8.  (https://theleaker.com/sony-android-8-0-update-phones-list/).

Of concern, and disappointment if true, is that the Xperia XA and XA Ultra are likely excluded from the list (currently running on Android 7).  Although I have tried to substantiate this single post's Sony list with other websites, I have yet to verify the validity of the Leaker's Sony list of phones that are scheduled to get Android 8.0.

I'm posting this topic to solicit community help in tracking news from across the Internet (or directly from Sony) concerning XA and XA Ultra's inclusion (or exclusion) to the list of Xperia phones that will get Android 8.0.  Of course, my hope is that XA and XA Ultra will be included in Sony's list of phones that will soon get the Android 8 software update.

Thanks!

XA Ultra not included in the Android O list

Xperia L1 has been included in the Android O update list, but not the XA Ultra (which is triple the price of L1).

Isn't it shame?

@Khursheede

There are no confirmed or official news about Android O updates from Sony, anything you read at the moment is just rumors that can be fake. Follow Sony's official blog for upcoming news.

Thank you for clarifying. Do you think XA & XA Ultra will get Android O?

Re: Will Android "O" be coming to the Z5 family..??

This is why I am thinking to switch to iPhone as Apple is updating iPhones for about 3 years at least.

Besides, they are ironing out any bugs, especially bigger ones, not like XZ Premium with its distortion and wifi issues. If you will add constant reduction in functions/features from Sony, overall you will receive software treatment I do not expect as "premium" user.
