Older model SWR10 Smartband won't connect to Huawei mate10 pro.

I've loaded the Smartband app, the SmartConnect app and the Lifelog app. When I touch the Smartband to the phone the phone vibrates, indicating that it has detected an NFC device, also the phone has paired with the Smartband, as indicated within the list of paired devices on the phone. But there is no connection between the two devices. I have re-started both devices on several occasions, re-loaded the apps and re-located the devices together. But still no connection. The Smart band does not appear the the list of Accessories within the Smartconnect app, only headset and charger appear. When I go to the Bluetooth menu and select the Smartband from the list of paired devises it will not connect, ie; no 'connecting to device' message appears, thus no connection. The Smart band has sat in the draw at home since it came with my old Xperia Z, so has never been paired with a device. Any solutions before it goes in the big green Sulo draw for good??????????????

Same problem here while trying to connect with a Xiaomi Pocophone F1 running Android Pie. Any suggestions? Lifelog monitors something (but only sleep, not deep or light sleep), Bluetooth is paired alright, but no caller alarm or other functions.
