Re: Xperia Companion compared with Sony PC Companion

Xperia Companion is unable to read backups created by PC Companion and totally removes the ability to directly sync the device with Outlook. It is a downgrade in every sense. Also if you plan to discontinue MediaGo as suggested by the music sync icon an equivalent sync option should be offered for pictures & video.

Re: Xperia Companion compared with Sony PC Companion

Hi, Xperia Companion doesn't have the functionality of sending messages (sms) on desktop whereas PC Companion is able to. Also PC Companion have the functionality of editing contacts

Hi @BerndGaykema,

Xperia Companion will indeed be replacing PC Companion. It's designed to be simpler to use, more streamlined and straight forward. Much of the functionality of PCC will be there on XC already, with more added in future updates.

This will include the wireless connection? I realy miss it.

No, it won't. This feature was removed by Sony.

Re: Xperia Companion compared with Sony PC Companion

I have actually bought Sony phones BECAUSE of the excellent software : Sony PC Companion !! The direct syncing feature is invaluable, so it the rest of the functionality.

Having upgraded my PC now I find to my total dismay that PC Companion is not installable anymore, neither via direct download nor via the Xperia software download/update

Is this really true - Sony is DISCONTINUING PC Companion ???   Without offering same features to "Xperia Companion"  ???

You can't be serious

That would be a strong reason to move on to another  phone brand  immediately
