Re: 2g works slower in jb much slower

I am also having similar issue after updating my SL to 4.1.2. Although it is shown as connected in 2G mode, applications are showing as time out. But its working once it picks up the 3G signal. I tried different modes "GMS only", "WCDMA (preferred)/GSM" and different APN setting, no use and this was working till last friday just before the update. Also swapped sim cards and no use.

Re: 2g works slower in jb much slower

Yes, me too...

In Germany with T-Mobile 2G is unusable on Xperia S with the .200 Build. All apps run into a timeout.

Holding the Phone to an old, unshielded PC Speaker with EDGE and ICS resulted in a permanent Sound in the PC Speaker we all know from EDGE Connections.

With JB you only hear like one beep every 5-10 seconds, no permanent noise.

So the connection is really wonky.

Yeah, just talked to Sony Mobile Support Chat here in Germany.

Do you want to laugh? He told me they never heard of this Problem.

That´s a Joke Sony, isn´t it?

Re: 2g works slower in jb much slower

I would kindly invite them to my office.

Without WiFi I would be lost.

Maybe is just Sony´s Way to tell you: "Buy a new Phone, but don´t buy it from us"
