I completely understand what you mentioned.
But the other moderator wrote "I also heard that Google will fix that in 8.1 update". So my concern is, does Google itself rolls out separate updates for phone maufacturers or is it the manufacturers who tweak the update as per their devices?

Arrows are definitely Sony's "feature" and not applied on stock Android, at least by default.
I think we all should ask Sony to remove them or to make it oprional.

@Aaliya, Oh, I see, sorry that I misunderstood you!
I'm afraid that I don't have any specific information apart from what I wrote in my previous reply.
@Merl, thank you for this information!
I have forwarded all the feedback from the users in this thread, however I can't promise anything!

Some workaround was provided. But it has not been solved for such a long time. We need the original regular WIFI sign without the annoying the up down arrows. Simply to hide the WIFI sign is not a complete solution. Very disappointed to see SONY doesn't care about the customer experience.

I understand having to remove the Wi-Fi icon is not optimal and I have forwarded the feedback internally from users in this thread and I'll make sure to forward your thoughts on this as well, as customer feedback is very important for us!
I can't however make any promises and if you want you can leave this feedback directly to your Local support team as well!

Hi, this was a really informative and a great help. Like mentioned, to remove the arrows will hide all other data connection symbols which I don't want to do, so just knowing what they are and there purpose is peace of mind.
