Cannot Play Song

Hello,

The Music app in my Xperia Ultra will not play music, apart from the few pre-installed songs. It is connected with My Drive on Google and attempts to play the WMA files there but displays the Cannot play song message instead. It does not seem to see my downloaded music files at all but My Drive is my priority now.

I have downloaded another app which will not play music from Google Drive either but at least it sees my downloads.

So far I have:

-- disabled and enabled the Music app

-- uninstalled and re-installed the Music app

-- made sure the Music app has all the permissions (just one selectable option there)

-- made sure My Disc files are downloadable via Wi-Fi or mobile network.

The music I am trying to play are WMA files and they certainly worked on my previous Xperia X model which I drowned in the see just one month before:-(

Can you help, anyone?

@Koper_2000

what if you download a file commander > open the file commander > SD card > look for the music files > tap on one > open with Music > see if that helps
