Unable to root arc after 4.0.2.A.0.62 update... :(

Hello Frnds,

I updated the software using SEUS as my market was not working.. Previously my Arc was rooted using the Superoneclick but now when I am trying root it after 4.0.2.A.0.62 update, it is getting hanged in between and not letting me root the Arc.. Slightly frowning Face Can anyone please help in this? I wanna have all the functionality and benefits which I was using with a rooted one.. Otherwise please tell me how to downgrade to 4.0.2.A.0.42....

it "could" void your warranty, you can always flashback to the firmware it came with, so you should create a backup of your current firmware

Ok.. Thanks.. Just tell me how can I take backup of old ROM? I tried using ROM Manager but it does not show SE option under list of ROMs available...

Rooting instructions

Note:

.FTF->Locked or unlocked bootloader devices-> no preroot

You have to root with the latest version of flashtools 0.4.1. To do this connect the phone with usb debbuging enabled and then press the lock icon on flashtool.

To install the Flashtool, follow the steps below:

Windows version :

Install the full install Flashtool 0.6.5.0 package

Apply the latest update (each update is cumulative)

Updates will not install if full 0.6.5.0 is not installed

Linux version :

Unpack the tar.7z package

Check that libusb-1.0 is installed. On 64bits system, both 64bit and 32bit should be installed.

Add these rules to /etc/udev :

[Tutorial]Root with recoveryLT15i

THANKS TO Bin4ry for the recovery AND the RootXperia.zip

FOR UNLOCKED BOOTLOADERS:

Steps:

1. Flash LT15i firmware .ftf via Flashtool.

2. Enter recovery by command: fastboot boot recoveryARC.img

A recovery menu will appear in your phone.

3. Sets scripts assets: ENABLED

4. Flash RootXperia.zip via recovery. You have to copy RootXperia.zip to the SD card previously.

5. Reboot device and it´s done. Now device is rooted.

Which Kenel u r using now?

Are you talking about the "kernel.sin" file? If yes then I have all the kernel sin from 0.283/0.42/0.58/0.62/

As I mentioned above, I hv upgraded my arc to 4.0...62... Now as I m gonna flash it with other custom ROM, I should have the backup of current ROM in case anything goes wrong, I can flash with this ROM so I wanted to how can we take backup of ROM. I tried with the ROM Manager app but it doesnt show SE under the existing list of ROMs..
