Re: [Full Tutorial] How to make Xperia Go ICS Super smooth and fast.

No it isn't. I can connect my phone to PC Companion easily after rooting. Maybe this your USB problem. Double check it. Slightly smiling Face

You aren' using a custom rom/kernel so there isn't any chance that you won't be able to use PC companion.

Re: [Full Tutorial] How to make Xperia Go ICS Super smooth and fast.

Yo xfahim,

Sorry Late Reply, . .

I got it fixed, the problem was when I setup a "Desktop backup password".

USB debugging mode was on and everything is in order,

good thing i remembered about the backup password

I've used SetCPU and yeah it really does speed my phone and drains a bit more power.

but i usualy turn-off my screen, WiFi, low notification sounds, low brightness, and also SetCPU profiling, so when screen is turned-off Max is 800 and Min is 200.

so i still get like 24 to 36 hours without recharging

( i really tested the endurance, i did not just get assumptions from some power managing apps )

btw, haven't tested HD games yet

Best Regards,

Bones

Re: [Full Tutorial] How to make Xperia Go ICS Super smooth and fast.

@ajharassett

Yes it drains more power than usual, but you can always set Profiling on SetCPU,

profiling means you can set parameters like mine

i set: "Screen off" condition, then give it command to set CPU to Max 800 and Min to 200 and priority by 100.

If you don't know what I just said or can't find those options, and for future readers

Follow these steps

1. Open SetCPU

2. Go to Profiles Tab

3. Click the :smileyplus: button on top near the notifications bar

4. You'll be viewing the "Conditions" page.

  • here you can set conditions like: "Screen off"
  • *which means IF SCREEN IS OFF activate this profile

How to add conditions?

  •   Click on the :smileyplus: button next to "Turn this profile on when..." ,

and you'll see a list of conditions, you can combine as many as you want

as long as they make sense.

:smileyinfo: You can always specify values for each condition, just tap them

5. Click Next and you'll be at the CPU speed page, you can setup here as to how much CPU your phone will be using when the conditions are true

Example:

You have set

Condition: Screen off

Set CPU speed: Max 800Mhz & Min 200 Mhz

If or When the phone Screen is turned off

SetCPU will automatically Set CPU speed to Max 800Mhz & Min 200Mhz

thus results to lesser battery drain ( only if your not processing or downloading anything )

Alert I don't advice to set CPU to Max 400Mhz and Min 200Mhz when screen is turned off, because when you turn it on because of some notification, it might lagg or hang a bit

6. Click Next after Setting CPU speed

  • You will be then be viewing the Priority page
  • In this page you can set priorities for different profiles

Just play with the settings a bit, curiosity comes in handy

Best Regards,

Bones

Re: [Full Tutorial] How to make Xperia Go ICS Super smooth and fast.

carlson, yes it will. But you can regain the warrenty by un-rooting the phone. Unrooting is as same as rooting. Slightly smiling Face So do it without any fear.

Re: [Full Tutorial] How to make Xperia Go ICS Super smooth and fast.

bonesnatch, Its okey man. Slightly smiling Face

and thanks for helping ajharassett with settings in SetCPU.

I don't get that much battery in mine. I use Mobile Data when I'm not at home and Mobile Data is battery eater. Dizzy Face Wifi uses less battery, I use setCPU profie too, like yours. I use battery turned off profile, Battery <40= profile and charging profile. What do you use?

If you can, test a Asphalt game. Or real racing maybe.

Re: [Full Tutorial] How to make Xperia Go ICS Super smooth and fast.

ajharassett, NO. I don't recommend ANY battery saver app/Task killer too.

Yeah if you set the cpu at 1000 all the time, phone will drain battery a lil bit faster. So you can easily follow bonesnatch's SetCPU advice. Slightly smiling Face It'll help.

Re: [Full Tutorial] How to make Xperia Go ICS Super smooth and fast.

@xfahim

I use 3 profiles

  • Priority 100 = Screen off : SetCPU to 800Max 200Min

Alert Use this kind of profile at your own risk!
Although I'm not sure if there are any risks
Not sure if setting CPU Mhz Up and Down is a good thing but it might cause any drawbacks,
for example: it might damage the hardware or whatever
But I use it anyway

  • Priority 99 = Battery < 15% : SetCPU to 400Max 200Min

Set to priority 99 so it overrides priority 98 when I get really low battery and incase when I'm too far away from any power source

:smileyinfo: I'm mostly in the mountains with my dirtbike and DSLR  so this comes-in handy

  • Priority 98 = Battery < 40% : SetCPU to 800Max 200Min

Yeah i might re-download that app, it did not cause too much problems on me when my xGO was on GB, hopefully it removes the tiny lagg now that I have it Rooted and manipulated the CPU

Thanks for reminding me  ( well I ony bought it because it was on sale haha )

Best Regards,

Bones
