Post PDF Download link: http://bit.ly/xGoRoot
And my new post about unlocking your phones bootloader! http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/135609 Give it a try!
[UPADATE 04th March, 2013!! How to root 6.1.1.B.1.54 NEW UPDATE. Also added new links so you've to just download 2 files of 10MB. (Before, there was to files of 700MB  Enjoy! Its easy for users with slow internet :smileygrin
Okey, most of us are complaining about Xperia Go's ICS Update. Yes, it is true. ICS in Xperia Go make this phone super laggy.
But my phone is smooth and fast as well. So here's a full tutorial. Its easy for newbies too. I know some of you here know this method but I'm writing for everyone.
So, after updating the phone, we must have to restore it once. And it'd be great if we clear the internal memory and reinstall the apps again.
And after that, we'll root the phone and use Set CPU app for using this phone's dual core 1Ghz processor. Cause I've seen that after updating to ICS, the phone uses only 600Mhz (Max) and 200Mhz(Min) cpu.
Heres some fact:
#You have too root your phone with your own risk. Though I rooted my phone easily. Don't be afraid. Its easy.
#Using your phone's full CPU performance, your phone's battery may perform 30~55Min less than before.
For rooting the phone, we'll use Bin4ry's method. Download the file from here (LINK, read below)
[Update: Some of you are facing problem with rooting the phone, fyi, the app has been updated to v17, so use this link for download: http://j.mp/Zk1hTE) Hope this helps. ]
Then unzip it.
In your phone, Goto Settings>Developer Options>USB Debugging (tick that)
Then open the folder you've unzipped before and run 'RunMe'
cmd window will appear, then type 1 and press enter. and then it'll ask you to connect the phone, connect your phone to the PC and then follow the on-screen instructions.
Now sit back, phone will restart.
Your phone is rooted! To check the root, goto menu and then see if there's any app called 'SuperSU'
Now download and install SetCPU. Playstore link (http://j.mp/SVFjPS) /Direct link (http://j.mp/QmoeD3)
Open this app, grant superuser choice. You'll see how was the CPU before. Now change it to 1000MHz (Max and Min)
Now see the phone by yourself, can you feel the difference?
I will upload a video of my phone real soon.
UPADATE 13th DEC, 2012!!
As you all know, a new firmware 6.1.1.B.1.54 has been update to Xperia Go. And it can't be rooted using the method below there.
But no, this firmware can be rooted too.
So, here's how:
You need: Flashtool (http://j.mp/W8o0h2http://j.mp/13zMTJzhttp://j.mp/13zMTJz)
Edited huge sized (~350MB each) ftf file and now its about ~5MB each. (Uploaded to Dropbox for easy downloading!)
.10 Kernel: http://bit.ly/10kernel
.54 Kernel: http://bit.ly/54kernel
I'm guessing you have 6.1.1.B.1.54 installed, if no then install first!
Now we have everything.
Install Flashtool. Then put the 2 downloaded ftf file in C:/Flashtool/firmwares (If you installed Flashtool in default location)
Then open Flashtool (run as administrator) then you can see this
Then click the Thunder icon. You will see this:
Select Flashmood and hit ok. Then you will see this:
So we will take the 6.1.1.B.1.10 Kernel first and then press ok and wait a few seconds.... Then you'll see this...
Then, as the photo says:
Turn off your phone and insert data cable to phone (not in PC first)
Then press and hold Volume Down (Not Back) key and insert the cable to PC. (Keep holding until the LED Turns Green.
Finished. Then Turn on your phone AND ROOT using the method I've written before. (Reboot phone too)
Then turn off your phone again, we will flash .54's kernel now.
So as I said, open flashtool, click thunder button, Select flashtool method and ok then you will see this.
Select the 6.1.1.B.1.54 Kernel this time.
Now do like before. And after successgully flashing, turn on your phone.
Now its the latest firmware and its rooted. Don't forget to say thankyou.
Want to thank me?
As uploading huge ftf's I need bandwidth! Sign up to Dropbox by this link: http://db.tt/eAD5Qz60 and install the desktop app to gift me 500MB

May I just ask, Do you experience random reboots with your phone? Back then when I was still on GB It reboots maube once or twice a day. Then I updated to ics expecting it to change but still it reboots itself. I tried rooting it too. Bin4ry method. the lag is gone but the reboot is my only problem what could be causing it?

No. I didn't experienced any random reboots in my phone. GB/ICS, no issues.
You can repair your phone with SUS. Its safe.

I've rooted and I uses free app No frills CPU control ( setting 1Ghz min, 800Mhz min,Governer ondemand and I/O scheduler as deadline (not sure what this does though) instead if SetCPU,
I'am also using FasterFix to set the aGPS server to my local one, though this has not improved the satelite locking speed.
Overall my phone is greatly improved withthe exception of GPS which is pathetic the talk of updates from Sony are I believe WILL NOT be updated as the phone isnt a big seller and has probably now ceased production in favour of 2013 models and there is not a replacement been rumoured.
My advice be prepared to ditch this phone as soon as possible and move to Motorola (razr i or razr m) or Samsung NOT Ace 2, Galaxy advance or S3 mini as these have the same NovaThar U8500 chipset.

If I could , I'd. But I've to stick with my go.
I used FasterFix. But, No way. Seems like a phone without GPS.

ei wazzup i just wanna ask if your phone is superfast and smooth with the ics how about the camera and the quality and also the brightness is 1000mhz of cpu fix it all?.. .hoping on your reply. . thnx mate. .

2012-11-19 03:23 PM
Yes, my phone is smooth.
Camera quality is as same as it was in GB. Well, using your phone in 1GHz doesn't matter the brightness, as you can select the brightness or let the phone take the control of brightness.
