I don't know i love the design but the emphasis is on cam with the z1 and yes although it's better than any of the previous xperia models i still think photos are compressed to much and there's alot of oversharpening in the samples i've seen. Sony needs to let the user decied how big he/she want there photo size to be i mean that's what real camera phones let the users do it's all about choice and trust me i've only purchased sony phones in my life but i won't shell out the kind of money sony wants for this if the s4 is taking better pics with sony's in house optics. It hurts that samsung, apple and now lg can take sony's optics and produce superior photos because sony's software development is coming up short. Sorry if i sound bashful but as an electrical engineer I work to hard for my money to just give it away just cause Sony built a reputation for having the best even if right now they aren't giving me the best, just fix the cam software we all know you can beat the rest of oems but it seems you don't want to cause you all seem to think that if you do they will shop elsewhere for optics.

Sounds like a good phone, just like its older brother Xperia Z sounded too. But did Sony fix the bugs of Z before launching Z1? Or they are just focused on improving what was already good enough, instead of improving what was plain bad?

My 1st post is unluckily already a complain. I feel kind of betrayed by Sony for selling Xperia Z as its flagship model in Spring 2013 and push it from the pedestal only 9 months later. Do not get me wrong, I am still satisfied with my "Z", but the ugly thought occurs that Sony could have built the improvements made within the Z1 already into the Xperia Z.
Besides that the only critic point I got is the poor FLAC support by Sony Walkman App. My FLAC-files are simply not played, although Sony claims the Walkman App is able to do so. Mostly of them are ripped with XLD Player (Mac OS), but also the others are simply not played. Does anyone know what kind of FLAC files are supported?
