[JB Update] [6.2.A.1.100] List Of Apps/Bloatwares That Are Safe to Delete

Hi Wonderful users of Xgo,

do you have a list of system files / bloatwares that are safe to remove?

I broke my settings and album app.  hahaha..

I will update this if I know the solution already but as for now, I want to 'ask'

Thanks a lot in advance.

Re: [JB Update] [6.2.A.1.100] List Of Apps/Bloatwares That Are Safe to Delete

Social apps:

/system/app/EventStream.apk

/system/app/EventStreamPluginFacebook.apk

/system/app/EventStreamPluginTwitter.apk

/system/app/facebook.apk

/system/app/FBCalendarSync.apk

/system/app/FBIAppShare.apk

/system/app/FBMediaDiscovery.apk

/system/app/FBMusicLike.apk

/system/app/FBSetupwizard.apk

/system/app/PlusOne.apk

/system/app/PostViewer.apk

/system/app/SEMCFacebookProxy.apk

/system/app/SOMCTwitterAccount.apk

/system/app/SOMCTwitterSetupWizard.apk

/system/app/SocialEngineCore.apk

/system/app/SocialEngineFacebookPlugin.apk

/system/app/SocialEngineFacebookShareFrwkPlugin.apk

/system/app/SocialEnginePicasaPlugin.apk

/system/app/SocialEngineTwitterShareFrwkPlugin.apk

/system/app/SocialPane-Apps.apk

/system/app/SocialPane-FeedWidget.apk

/system/app/SocialPane-FriendsWidget.apk

/system/app/SocialPane-StatusWidget.apk

/system/app/Talk.apk

/system/app/timescaperssplugin.apk

/system/app/TimescapeSpline.apk

/system/app/TwitterPostViewer.apk

/system/etc/customization/applications/com.whatsapp.apk

Miscellaneous apps:

/system/app/compass.apk

/system/app/magicbox.apk

/system/app/micoach.apk

/system/app/walkmate.apk

/system/app/wisepilot.apk

/system/etc/customization/applications/com.qoowaa.act.apk

/system/etc/customization/applications/unyverse.sony.apk

I managed to get 190 MBs of free RAM on a fresh boot up after removing all of the above apps, though this quickly dwindles with use until the next reboot (presumably JB is doing some prefetching).

Some of the social apps listed above are related to Timescape (apps with EventStream and Timescape in their names), so you might not want to remove them if you still use it.

Whats the point in removing all the smartphone goodies? Then buy Nokia Aisha series instead if You want longer battery life and make calls, sms. And bdw, Android RAM im ment to be almost full.

Re: [JB Update] [6.2.A.1.100] List Of Apps/Bloatwares That Are Safe to Delete

Because not everyone has a need for them. Besides, they're not exactly the lightest apps around to get the job done. Why should I have those apps needlessly competing for already scarce RAM when I'm not even using them in the first place? Anyway, to each, their own.

Re: [JB Update] [6.2.A.1.100] List Of Apps/Bloatwares That Are Safe to Delete

The point is to get rid of all the damn bloat Sony and Google expects us to keep up with.

Some of us just want a smartphone capable of doing what Android supports.

I personally don’t use Facebook, Google+, miCoach Xperia link, FM radio, Timescape, Voice search, Sony update center, Chrome and many more, but I do not get the option to uninstall them.

I have found the option to deactivate most of the above, but it’s probably still there in the background.
