That said, I updated to .62 over the air. The over the air updates won't delete any data or settings from your phone. It would be a lot easier to do out that way than using uliwooly's method, even though that is easier than it first appears. If your phone was bought from elsewhere (outside the Philippines) it might be that the version you have does have an update available. Have you tried doing the update from the phone itself?

you need a wifi connection, settings -> about phone -> software update

I tried over the air, followed your instructions settings-about phone-software update

After that, the update center told me that PC Companion required. Well, if it doesn't work with my phone, I'll just wait SE Service Center to do this for me.

yeah, contact your network and ask them if they are releasing the update OTA? I'm assuming you bought this phone from the network right?
