does the LED turn green? do you keep holding the "volume down" button the whole time?

Re: Help! I can't connect my Ray to my PC in MTP

No I haven't checked with another PC, there isn't another I can use.

I've tried it again and it did crash it this time. I got the Down volume button to work properly, and it caused a pop up message to appear at the bottom right of my desktop. This said 'Found new hardware SEMC Flash device' My computer then totally froze so even the mouse wouldn't work and had to reset my computer.

I googled that problem and someone says that they solved this by going into safe mode. How can I update in safe mode if I can't connect to the internet?

restart your PC then once its booting press F8 -> select Safe Mode -> run SEUS

I agree with slimshaddy, it might be your PC

Re: Help! I can't connect my Ray to my PC in MTP

Ok, so I've managed to update my phone Slightly smiling Face

I saw a piece of advice when googling that said to get SEMC flash to work you have to go into safe mode and then do the volume down thing so I tried that (It didn't say volume down as it was for different hardware but I knew what they meant).

I did it without running SEUS at all, just so I'd get the SEMC flash detected pop-up in my application tray. This did pop-up, but instead of crashing I got a message saying that SEMC had been installed! Awesome.

I then went back into 'non-safe' mode and ran SEUS, and guess what? It worked! I have now updated my phone, although it took all the rest of my data on my 3G plan so now have no net (after this post, lol) on my computer until Sunday. Oh well, it was worth it.

Still no joy with the MTP though but I think I'll just use MSC to put music etc on unless anyone knows a problem with that?

Thanks to everyone for replying and sorry if I came across a bit grumpy.

Anytime, I'm glad it worked, the issue might be your computer, but if I come across something that might a solution for you, I'll let you know
