I am facing a serious problem with call quality with my Sony Xperia Z5 Dual. Specifically, when making GSM calls the other side complain about echo, which remains during the entire duration of the call. This doesn't happen when I use headphones or make calls through Skype or Viber. FYI, removing one of the two sim cards does not solve the problem.
I am not sure if this is a hardware or a software issue. Any suggestions are welcome.

Could you please restart your phone into safe mode and check if it occurs there?

Thank you for the prompt reply. I've made calls in safe mode and the echo issue is still there.
Please let me know if there's anything else I could try.

Do you have the possibility to try another SIM-card from another operator, just to see if the same behaviour appear?

Hello Hampus and thank you for your reply.
I've used my other SIM card from a totally different network and from a different country and the problem persists.
Any other suggestions please? I am still not sure if this a hardware issue or a software.

Okay, in that case I suggest that you perform a software repair using PC Companion which will reinstall the latest software available for your device. Note that, this will also erase your personal data, don't forget to backup your data. When the software repair is done, try to place some calls without restoring any data/install applications.
But if same thing happens, you would do best by visiting nearest service center to have the phone examined by a technician. You can contact your Local support for information about nearest service center and/or how to proceed with this in the best possible way.
