Charging with only USB doesn't work.

My xperia Z1 wont charge with the PC (or any place where i only use the USB) . it only connects to it. tried both with dock and the "mini usb - thing". The phone charges as normal when i use the outlet...

Charging through a computer will take quite a bit of time, if you happen to be using the phone or playing games at the same time, it won't charge. Also the Dock has to be connected to a wall charger not a computer for it to work.

Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

 

You could also try changing the USB mode.

 

Menu > Settings > Xperia Connectivity > USB Connectivity > USB connection Mode > Change it do MSC

 

Once done try connecting to a PC, without the charge dock.
