Bootloader unlock allowed: No

Not sure where to put this. I recently contacted O2 Ireland (my network provider) about the block on the bootloader unlock on my Xperia Arc S, who informed me they do not recommend unlocking the bootloader or offer any kind of support in relation to it. All they will provide me with is the sim unlock code, which I then requested.

I read in a similar topic that Sony could change the status to "Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes" if they were provided with an unlock code from Movistar. Is this also possible in relation to O2 Ireland? They seem very reluctant to offer me any kind of information in this regard.

Re: Bootloader unlock allowed: No

I am unsure where this information has come from. We are unable to alter the bootloader unlockable status in any circumstance sorry.
