Re: {GUIDE} How to Root Xperia™ Smartphones

I'm currently on 4.1.1 release 3 on my xperia tablet s. I was curious if there were any new updates and came across this website showing how to root to kitkat 4.4.4. Is this real? I'm not finding any other info showing it's possible.

Re: {GUIDE} How to Root Xperia™ Smartphones

Rooting using Towelroot APK

Go to settings > Security > Mark  "Unknown sources"

1) Download Towelroot APK

2) Install that APK. You will get a warning from your phone, just install the apk anyway, the app is just fine.

3) Run the app and tap on "Make it rain"

4) You have root now

Once it's done, you can uninstall the App from your phone, the root will remain so no worries.

Re: {GUIDE} How to Root Xperia™ Smartphones

I have unlocked the bootloader.

I have tried absolutely all methods, you have described, but I keep failing.

I have an Xperia Active St17i with Android 4.04 + version no. 4.1.B.0.587

What to do? Any suggestions?

Br, Joe

Re: {GUIDE} How to Root Xperia™ Smartphones

HI

Could you confirm once again if it's the ST17 " i " version and not the " a "

because if you got the " i " , then I can't understand why the process is failing.

I can only say that try on another PC. Make sure you have PC Companion installed.

If you get errors, give details here and only then I can try helping you with it

Good luck
