Re: {GUIDE} How to Install Jelly Bean , ICS ( Ice Cream Sandwich) and Gingerbread on Xperia™ Smartphones, as well as root them

Thanks a lot my friend, it worked very smoothly Slightly smiling Face

Nabeel you are a very nice person, your guide was very useful and you were very clear when you were explaining what to do

I'm from Colombia and I tried to update my Xperia Mini Pro (Sk17a) with PC Companion, but always I got the "Your phone is up to date" message (I had GB 2.3.3), and that was very annoying because I had been waiting a long time to get my ICS Update (since the updates began). And now thanks to this post I've already get my ICS update!!! Smiling Face with Heart-eyes

Now I'll root my new Phone (Xperia Mini Pro with ICS) and I'll start enjoying it.

If I have problems, I hope you can help me friends Winking Face

Re: {GUIDE} How to Install Jelly Bean , ICS ( Ice Cream Sandwich) and Gingerbread on Xperia™ Smartphones, as well as root them

Hi Nabeel,

Your post is growing day by day Slightly smiling Face

In my previous post I mentioned trying the new ICS 4.1.B.1.13 ( vodafone EU release) which was having baseband version 85.

After using for almost 3 weeks I came to conclusion that its no different than 4.1.B.0.587.

Its also laggy and I couldnt remove vodafone bloatwares.

So I tried different version of 4.1.B.0.587, "ST18i_4.1.B.0.587_CE_1252_3693" which I found on internet. This is not indian version. Its Central EU version. The baseband version in this was 77. . After flashing I got around 200MB of free internal memory which in previous case I got ~ 140MB. Removed unnecessary apps like Mcafee and UEFA etc. I flashed baseband with version 85 from 4.1.B.1.13 release. Signal reception went from -85dBm to -51dBm which is tremendous boost.

After installing the required apps like FB, ymail, whatsapp i still have 180MB space. I am so happy.

People who dont mind trying can try this combination.

Re: {GUIDE} How to Install Jelly Bean , ICS ( Ice Cream Sandwich) and Gingerbread on Xperia™ Smartphones, as well as root them

I was running a rooted stock  ICS 4.1.B.0.587 (Xperia Mini Pro)
I have NOT unlocked my bootloader.
Recently I flashed a int2ext+ script and my phone never boots completely ever since (All the android processes start crashing as soon as the phone boots up and I am not able to do anything)
Will flashing my ROM with the ones given above solve the problem???
Will I be able to flash the ROM even with my LOCKED BOOTLOADER. Will the locked bootloader creat any problem??

Re: {GUIDE} How to Install Jelly Bean , ICS ( Ice Cream Sandwich) and Gingerbread on Xperia™ Smartphones, as well as root them

Thank you very much for this thread Slightly smiling Face But I am having some problems flashing my Xperia Ray which has the original firmware 4.0.2.A.0.62  Slightly frowning Face

I'm trying to flash 4.0.2.A,0.42 so that I can root it afterwards, but in Flashtool these messages continue to pop up no matter what I do:

21/032/2013 10:32:35 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode

21/032/2013 10:32:35 - INFO - Opening device for R/W

21/032/2013 10:32:36 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode

I really can't figure out what's wrong. I enabled usb debugging mode, unknow sources, tried it with older versions of Flashtool. I've tried upgrading to ICS but the same thing happened. I even deleted apps that could potentially affect this. Please help!!

It may or may not be relevant for you, but when I first tried flashing my phone with my Windows 8 laptop using a USB 3.0 socket, I had similar problems. When I disconnected the phone and tried again using one of the USB 2.0 sockets on my laptop everything worked perfectly.

Oops! I just noticed that you already upgraded to ICS, presumably using Flashtool, in which case my suggestion is probably not relevant...

RaiderColombia Great, and ofcourse we all are here to help Winking Face

sourabh Yeah Slightly smiling Face

And all the best with your combination and to your second question, Nopes, you can't install it on your ray Slightly frowning Face

XperiaMT27 There you go

pr.wale Yes, flashing any of the firmware for your mobile would fix it.

Moreover you can use PC Companion / SUS to repair your phone

bqzhang That log is normal

Your mobile should be working fine, is it ?

Re: {GUIDE} How to Install Jelly Bean , ICS ( Ice Cream Sandwich) and Gingerbread on Xperia™ Smartphones, as well as root them

It didn't work out for me in the end because after flashing it, non of the rooting methods in {GUIDE} How to Root Xperia™ Smartphones worked. Thank you very much for your help nevertheless. This method worked out well for my st18i with 4.0.2.A.0.62: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1444841 Slightly smiling Face
